I’m so glad to see one of the recommendations from our Cancer Moonshot Roundtable come to fruition.

Las Vegas, NV – Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District applauded Nevada 2-1-1 for adding information and resources for cancer patients and their families to its services. Nevada 2-1-1 is a telephone number and website that provides information and referrals to health, human, and social service organizations in Nevada.

As a Nevada State Senator, Dina Titus worked with the late Senator Debbie Smith to pass Assembly Bill 580, which funded the Nevada 211 program. Senator Smith passed away from a cancerous brain tumor in 2016. At a Cancer Moonshot Roundtable in September of last year hosted by Congresswoman Titus, Nevada 211 agreed to add information and resources for cancer patients and their families to its website.

“I’m so glad to see one of the recommendations from our Cancer Moonshot Roundtable come to fruition,” said Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-1). “This clearinghouse will provide valuable medical, financial, and social service information to those who are coping with cancer and their families.”

"We are pleased to include cancer resources in the education and support we provide the community at large," said Nevada 2-1-1 Call Center Manager Lisa Martin. "Our goal is to not only empower all Nevadans to achieve optimal health and well-being, but to provide these families with the information they need during some of their most vulnerable moments."
