Rep. Titus to host award ceremony her annual House App Challenge, which encourages middle school students from Las Vegas to participate in extracurricular activities relating to the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) fields. May 3, 2016 Today: Rep. Titus to Recognize Local Students for Designing Apps Las Vegas – Congresswoman Dina Titus will host the 3nd annual House App Challenge Awards Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. today at the Inspire Theater. Since February, more than 150 students from five local middle schools have used their creativity and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to design and develop a software app on the platform of their choice. The winning submission was chosen by a three-member panel from Southern Nevada’s tech community and will be announced at the conclusion of today’s awards ceremony. The winning team members will enjoy a meet-and-greet and presentation with a NASA astronaut at their school.
