Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District announced a $3 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to the City of North Las Vegas for the construction of the Northeast Interceptor sewer project. The funds will complement millions in investment made by local government agencies.

Rep. Titus wrote a letter to EDA Regional Director Leonard Smith in April 2017, encouraging the federal government to award the grant.

“Infrastructure projects like this will help grow our community by providing vital services for businesses looking to locate in the Las Vegas Valley. These funds will aid in creating more than 365 jobs and leveraging $35.2 million in private investment,” Rep. Titus said.

BACKGROUND FROM EDA

This EDA investment supports the construction of a sewer system to provide services to an industrial area in North Las Vegas, Nevada.  The completion of the project will lead to improved utility services to local business enterprises.  This investment will help the city provide access to upgraded infrastructure that will contribute to increased capacity and help create new jobs for the region’s workforce. The total cost of the project will be $7 million.
