Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District announced that the Nevada Housing Division has been awarded $322,707 to provide counseling to families and individuals facing the threat of foreclosure. The funds are awarded through the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program.
“Nevada’s economy continues to drag under the weight of the highest foreclosure rate in the country with one of every 306 homeowners facing a foreclosure filing," Congresswoman Titus said. “This grant will allow the Nevada Housing Division to expand mortgage assistance and foreclosure counseling to homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments. By providing the NHD with the tools and resources they need, these funds will help families in Southern Nevada avoid foreclosure and build strong communities.”
