Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement in response to today’s Supreme Court ruling in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby. June 30, 2014 Las Vegas, NV- Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement in response to today’s Supreme Court ruling in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby: “I am extremely disappointed by today’s Supreme Court decision to allow corporations to make personal health choices for their female employees,” said Congresswoman Titus. “Ninety-nine percent of American women will use contraception at some point in their lives. Employers should not be able to impose their religious beliefs on female employees, ignoring their individual health decisions and denying their right to reproductive care. This ruling is a step backwards for women’s health and equality. Bosses belong in the boardroom, not in the bedroom.” |
