Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on HR 622, the State and Local Sales Tax Deduction Fairness Act of 2015, to make permanent the local and state sales tax deduction in the federal tax code. This provision allows Nevadans and others living in states without local or state income taxes to deduct sales taxes from their federal tax return.  

“Making permanent the state and local sales tax deduction not only simplifies the tax process, it also provides more certainty and tax fairness for hard working Nevada families and small businesses. I applaud the passage of this important provision, and call on my colleagues to build on this progress by working together on long-term tax reform.”
