Titus Statement on Cr That Fails to Address Daca

December 21, 2017
Rep. Titus opposed the bill because it failed to include a provision to protect thousands of Nevada DREAMers.

Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement after voting against the Continuing Resolution that shortchanges CHIP, ignores DACA, and snubs the VA’s need for 45,000 doctors, nurses, and health care providers.

“Republicans found time to pass the biggest tax scam in the nation’s history, allow concealed-carry reciprocity, and rob seniors of Medicare benefits. But they have ignored DACA, CHIP, and legislation to responsibly fund the government. Republicans spent yesterday celebrating the Trump Family Tax Break as our government careened toward a shutdown, DREAMers faced deportation, the VA remained underfunded, and the future of children’s health care hung in the balance. My position is clear: No long-term solutions on DACA, CHIP, and the VA – No vote from me.”
