December 4, 2014 Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement in opposition to H.R. 5759, legislation to block administrative action on immigration: “Rather than using the last few days of the most unproductive Congress in history to address the priorities of the American People, such as comprehensive immigration reform, the Tea Party Majority has decided to continue to waste time on empty promises while offering no solutions to the significant issues we face. When we return for our final week of the legislative session, the Republican Leadership should allow an up or down vote on the bipartisan reform legislation passed in the Senate over 500 days ago. Fixing our broken immigration system is not just a moral imperative, but an economic necessity too.” |
