Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on Sen. Jeff Sessions, President Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General who will receive a final confirmation vote today in the U.S. Senate.

“The allegations of racism that cost Sen. Jeff Sessions a federal judgeship three decades ago still serve as grounds for disqualifying him to serve as Attorney General,” Rep. Titus said. “In the Senate, he has opposed comprehensive immigration reform and protections for the LGBT community. His record on voter rights is abysmal, and he has expressed opposition to marijuana, a growing industry in Nevada. Sen. Sessions’ record and rhetoric prove that he is not fit to serve as our chief law enforcement officer.”
