July 18, 2017 Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District issued the following statement after the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee excluded funding requests in its 2018 Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill to restart licensing for the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository. The bill will be considered by the full committee on Thursday. “Republicans in the House should pay attention to the Senate and revisit their efforts to fund a dangerous and misguided project that is based on bad politics and even worse science. As has been shown time and again, along with Secretary Rick Perry and the Trump Administration, they refuse to recognize our state’s opposition to this unworkable project.” |
