Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ comments today in Las Vegas.

“While I agree with Attorney General Sessions that government must do all it can to protect its citizens, cutting crime rates will not be accomplished by tearing families apart and keeping people in the shadows. Republicans must stop using the criminal justice system to address our broken immigration system. What we need is comprehensive immigration reform – not a draconian crackdown on families. Las Vegas must always be a safe haven for those who are fleeing economic hardships and personal danger in order to build a better life for themselves and their families.”
