Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement today on the escalating crisis in Israel:

“Just last summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Israel with my mother Betty where we visited communities in Southern Israel, toured their schools and community centers, and met with families and local officials. Now those children and civilians, and Israelis from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, are interrupting their Shabbat dinners to race to bunkers and safe rooms to evade indiscriminate rocket attacks from Hamas. 

“I was proud to support funding for the original Iron Dome system but I had hoped Israel would never have to use it to protect civilians. I strongly support Israel's right to self-defense and call on Hamas to cease these acts of terror.”
