Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement in response to the Volume IV of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Safety Evaluation Report (SER) concerning Yucca Mountain.

“Since passage of the ‘Screw Nevada’ bill in 1987, which designated Yucca as the sole depository for the nation’s nuclear waste, the process has been more about how to make the Yucca project work rather than finding a solution for this problem. The latest volume of the SER changes nothing. I remain opposed to the misguided and costly efforts by some to restart this boondoggle of a program.”
