Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District issued a statement on the passing of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. “Muhammad Ali made his presence known to Americans at a time when our country needed him most. His convictions in and out of the ring helped pave the way for all Americans to know what greatness can look like. As a political, spiritual, and cultural icon, Ali’s legacy will always remain undefeated. In this time of great loss, let us practice some of the virtues he shared with us over the years. As he said: ‘… I don’t have to be what you want me to be. I am free to be what I want.’” |
