Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District issued a statement on the start of the 115th Congress. Rep. Titus previously served on the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and will continue to work on those issues. She is a member of the House Democratic Steering Committee and the Democratic Senior Whip Team.

“As the dean of the Nevada House Delegation, I look forward to leading our state in the 115th Congress,” Rep. Titus said. “I will fight to keep our immigrant families together, work to secure a long-term funding source for infrastructure projects, and combat any attempts by Republicans to privatize the VA, Medicare, and Social Security. I will also be vocal about holding the Trump Administration accountable. The president-elect and his cabinet picks have denied climate change, stoked xenophobia, promised to strip Americans of their health care, and vowed to work with the GOP-controlled Congress to slash taxes for the rich while cutting vital programs for underserved communities. We need an approach that will be good for all Americans – not just Trump’s band of billionaires.”
