Titus Statement on Trump Considering Withdrawing from Paris Climate Deal

May 31
Rep. Titus said withdrawing would jeopardize the future of our physical wellbeing, economy, and planet.

May 31, 2017

Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District issued the following statement after news reports suggested that President Trump will consider backing out of the landmark Paris climate accord.

“Withdrawing from the Paris climate accord would defy the will of the American people and 147 nations that ratified the deal in hopes of preserving our planet for future generations. Any move to abandon this agreement will jeopardize our physical wellbeing, further undermine our standing as a world leader, and endanger our economic vitality for years to come. If Trump makes good on his dangerous promise, Congress must demand a fact-based explanation from the Administration and resolve to prioritize clean air and water, public safety, and public health.”
