Titus’s PREPARED Act, bipartisan legislation which requires entities regulated under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) to create, implement, and file contingency plans with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for protecting animals in their care during emergency or disaster situations. Titus cosponsored a $3 million funding amendment that passed the U.S. House and would help provide much-needed resources for the CDC to streamline inspections and verify documentation. All seven of Congresswoman Titus’ Community Funding Project requests received final passage as part of consideration of nine of the annual appropriations bills to fund the federal government for Fiscal Year 2022.
