Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Dina Titus released the following statement in response to today’s U.S. Commission on Civil Rights’ briefing, “Patient Dumping by Hospitals: Enforcement of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor.”
“As a former member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, I was pleased to see the Commission take on the issue of patient dumping today,” said Congresswoman Titus. “Unfortunately, too many mental health patients in Nevada have seen this problem first hand. Patient dumping is simply unacceptable, and we must work as a state and as a nation to ensure that all patients are treated with the proper care and dignity they deserve. I look forward to reviewing the Commission’s recommendations and will act immediately to ensure no other patient suffers from this experience.”
